The Metropolitan Transportation Commission is pleased to present an eclectic collection of two-dimensional works by twenty-two Marin County artists, representing a sampling of the county’s visual art talents. The invited artists happen to be women, an historically under-recognized group, not by design but by chance. The artists’ experience ranges from novice to seasoned professionals whose works can be found in art collections nationwide and internationally. Some earned degrees in art from prestigious educational institutions, in addition to continued fine art studies, apprenticeships, and residencies. Some teach while some are learning.

Mediums represented in this premier exhibit are original paintings, photographs, and works on paper. Subjects range from realism to the subjective, personal, and imaginative.

The artists showing their work are self-representing, dedicated and self-motivated. They would love to hear from you for purchasing arrangements, exhibit opportunities and referrals to art gallery owners, art dealers, curators, art advisors, collectors. Feel free to contact each artist directly if a work of art resonates with you.

The exhibit organization is courtesy of retired long-time MTC staff member, Lois Tucker of San Rafael. She is very pleased to provide an exhibit opportunity to her artist friends and friends-of-friends. Invaluable assistance was provided by Annie Bates-Winship and Laura Lengyel.
