Ruby Newman:
Vibrations of Color
Artist's Statement
Regardless of the subject matter, my paintings are all
about color, rhythm and the intuitive response through the
brush strokes and composition. The use of vibrant color,
the vitality of the brush stroke and the attention to light
and composition all combine to create each piece.
Whether the inspiration comes from a landscape, figurative
work, or from the imagination, it is all about rhythm and
harmony combined with artistic intuition.
Original works are done in various mediums, including acrylics
on canvas, watercolor, pastels, or pen and pencil.
I have been producing both fine art works and public art
pieces for over 30 years. I’ve been honored to receive
national and local awards for my work.
