On September 22, 2010, the Commission adopted MTC's Plan for Special Language Services to Limited English Proficient Populations.

About the Plan

MTC is committed to helping people with limited proficiency in the English language access the agency’s essential public information and services. MTC works to ensure that all persons have meaningful access to its programs, services, and information, free of charge. The Commission has a number of procedures in place to assist Bay Area residents who are not proficient in the English language.

MTC's Plan for Special Language Services to Limited English Proficient Populations, is available to read online in Spanish, Chinese and English. Interested residents also may request copies by calling the Public Information Office at 510.817.5757.

REQUEST ASSISTANCE

Do you need written materials in large type or in Braille to participate in MTC or BATA meetings? Do you need a sign language interpreter or other assistance?

Is English your second language? Do you need one of our documents translated? Do you need an interpreter who speaks your language present at one of our meetings?

We can help! You can request assistance by calling 510-817-5757 or 510-817-5769 for TDD/TTY. We require at least three days notice to provide reasonable accommodations. We prefer more notice if possible. We will make every effort to arrange for assistance as soon as possible.
