The 2003 Annual Report for MTC and its offshoots – the Bay Area Toll Authority and the Service Authority for Freeways and Expressways – introduces a sampling of our customers. Ranging in age from 9 to 66 and representing the rainbow of the Bay Area’s ethnic richness, the 11 people profiled have come to rely on MTC’s growing suite of innovative traveler services to help get them where they want to go, when they need to get there.
One customer routinely uses the TransLink® smart card to board ferries, streetcars and trains. Another dials the 511 Traveler Information System morning and night to check on traffic. Others regularly log on to the 511 Web site to check transit connections. And a transbay commuter pays tolls the easy way – electronically, with a FasTrak® transponder. All these customers – and thousands like them all over the region – are successfully using the MTC products featured in this report to reduce the hassles and increase the efficiency of their travels around the nine-county Bay Area.
The 2003 Annual Report also contains the complete, audited financial report for MTC for fiscal year 2002-03.
