(Census 2000 & American Community Survey)

This page provides links to MTC web pages on Census 2000 data and reports. New reports and information on the ongoing American Community Survey (ACS) is also included on this page. Information related to the 1990 Census is available on a separate page.


Tract Level GIS files for Assisting in Census 2010 Participant Statistical Areas Program (PSAP) . Two set of ArcGIS "shp" files are available for use in the PSAP: a tract-level file using the Teleatlas North America (TANA) tract boundaries; and the same data using the Census Bureau's TIGER 2008 tract boundaries. Data includes Census 2000 counts of households, household population and total population (TOTHH00, HHPOP00, TOTPOP00); and ABAG Projections 2007 estimates of 2010 households, household population and total population (TOTHH10, HHPOP10, TOTPOP10). These are files discussed at a 12/4/08 meeting at the ABAG/MTC offices, as an introduction to the Census Bureau's PSAP program. The files are here:

American Community Survey 2007: San Francisco Bay Area: Data Highlights (October 2008) is the second comprehensive report by MTC on the 2007 American Community Survey (ACS). This 30-page report is available in PDF format. (Added: October 2, 2008)
 
American Community Survey 2006: San Francisco Bay Area: Data Highlights (November 2007) is the second comprehensive report by MTC on the 2006 American Community Survey (ACS). This 81-page report is available in PDF format. Background Excel workbooks are also available on our FTP site.
