About the Conference
Bay Area residents previewed some of the major decisions anticipated
as part of an update to MTC’s long-range transportation
policy and investment blueprint, known as Transportation
2035. The Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) showcased
results of its FOCUS effort
to identify priority development areas.

S.F. Mayor Gavin Newsom
Hear and see local elected officials, policy-makers
and outside experts address how the threat of climate change has heated up the debate about
congestion pricing, the transportation-land use connection
and social equity. Featured speakers and panelists include
S.F. Mayor Gavin Newsom, MTC Executive Director Steve Heminger,
Association of Bay Area Governments Executive Director Henry
Gardner, MTC Chair Bill Dodd and MTC Commissioner Dave Cortese,
and Dr. Manuel Pastor, director, Program for Environmental
and Regional Equity, Center for Sustainable Cities, University
of Southern California.
