Dumbarton Bridge Reopens Early

The Labor Day weekend operation to install a seismic joint at the east end of the Dumbarton Bridge went smoothly — so smoothly that the bridge reopened to traffic ahead of schedule, on Monday evening instead of on Tuesday morning. The photos on this page capture scenes from the round-the-clock effort to get the job done during the three-day bridge closure over the Labor Day weekend.
