U.S. Secretary of Transportation Mary E. Peters to Participate in First Demonstration of New Anti-Congestion Parking Technology

OAKLAND, Calif., Oct. 15, 2007 . . . U.S. Secretary of Transportation Mary E. Peters will travel to San Francisco on Tuesday, October 16, at 10:30 a.m. PDT to participate in the first demonstration of new parking technology that charges based on demand and signals available parking spots. The demonstration will take place during an update for the Secretary on Department-funded plans to ease congestion in San Francisco.

After the demonstration, the Secretary will hold a brief news conference and answer questions from the media.
