MTC to Hold Press Briefing on 2001 Regional Transportation Plan
WHAT: News briefing on the 2001
Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) ÷ the long-range transportation plan for the nine-county
San Francisco Bay Area. The briefing will address these questions:
- How much money will be needed to maintain the existing transportation system over the next 25
years?
- How much money is expected to be available for new projects?
- How is MTC involving the public in RTP choices and decisions?
- What is the process and schedule for adopting the RTP?
- What are the chances for a regional agreement on major transit expansion projects?
- What other key transportation issues must the RTP consider?
