Bay Area: A Showcase for Public Transit
One of the most exciting Bay Area transit developments will be evident to APTA
convention-goers from the moment they alight at San Francisco International Airport. They
will be greeted with a massive construction project to build a breathtaking new
international terminal and bring the BART rail system to the terminal's front door. In this
issue, we provide a briefing not only on the airport line, but also on a series of other
efforts to increase public transit's reach, functionality and appeal -- from a Web-based
transit trip planner, to a glittering new bus/rail hub for downtown San Francisco. While we
produced this issue with the APTA visitors in mind, we hope our regular readers in and
around the region also will find the update informative.
