City CarShare Expands Fleet

The concept of carsharing gained momentum in August when City CarShare deployed “pods” of cars at three BART stations: Glen Park in San Francisco, and Rockridge and Lake Merritt in Oakland. The Lake Merritt location is adjacent to MTC’s headquarters and has spurred MTC to join the carsharing program as a business member. City CarShare is currently operating in San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley and Palo Alto, with a total of 64 cars and over 1,600 members.
