Whether behind the scenes or on center stage, people who go to extraordinary lengths to keep the Bay Area moving are stars in anyone's eyes. This year's winners of the MTC Transportation Awards have been particularly resourceful in encouraging public transit use -- from focusing development around rail stations to providing reliable rides for elderly, disabled and low-income residents.
