Public Hearing: HUD’s PRO Housing Grant Program

The public hearing on MTC’s application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)’s new Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing) grant program will take place as part of the Administration Committee meeting.

Notice

MTC,  in partnership with the Bay Area Housing Finance Authority, plans to submit an application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)’s new Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing) grant program.

Pending additional analysis and public feedback, the application is expected to support implementation of MTC’s new Priority Sites Pilot Program, which will provide technical assistance and funding for regionally significant, locally nominated sites that advance Plan Bay Area 2050’s affordability, climate and equity goals.

There will be one public hearing to receive oral testimony and written comments about the draft application. Copies of the draft application will be on file with the Secretary of the Commission and will be open to public inspection on this page. The public hearing will be held during the regular meeting of MTC’s Administration Committee on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 9:40 a.m. (Remote and in person options available.)

This meeting will be accessible via webcast, teleconference and Zoom for all participants. Meeting attendees may opt to attend in person for public comment and observation at 375 Beale Street, Board Room (1st Floor). In-person attendees must adhere to posted public health protocols while in the building.

Public Comment

In order to allow staff to compile written comments prior to the public hearing, the public is encouraged to submit written comments by Monday, October 9, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. Written comments may be submitted to MTC’s Public Information Office at 375 Beale St., Suite 800, San Francisco, CA 94105 or sent via e-mail to info@bayareametro.gov. Please include “PRO Housing Grant Application” in the subject line. After October 11, 2023, written comments may be submitted by email to info@bayareametro.gov and will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 23, 2023.
