On View: Community in Transit Exhibit
Community in Transit, part of Transit Month 2026, celebrates Bay Area transit through a unique photography exhibition that highlights the infrastructure linking the region and the community riders find on — and because of — transit.
The exhibition is open to the public from now through Sept. 30 in the first-floor café of the Bay Area Metro Center, 375 Beale St., in San Francisco. Visitors can see the photos during the building’s normal business hours from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

On Sept. 8, MTC hosted an opening night event with a panel discussion featuring the photographers and Regional Mapping & Wayfinding Project Manager Gordon Hansen. More that 80 people attended the event, and five raffle winners won decommissioned, first-edition regional maps from transit stations and special Transit Month 2026 Clipper cards.
Over 100 events are scheduled around the Bay Area this September to celebrate Transit Month. See the full Transit Month event schedule.
