All Aboard! Ride Along with Transit CEOs for Transit Month

To celebrate the Bay Area’s 11th Annual Transit Month, join MTC Executive Director Andrew Fremier and CEOs from various transit agencies for a ride along event on Friday, September 11, 2026. The ride begins at 3:00 p.m. at the AC Transit Tempo Uptown Oakland Station (located at 20th and Broadway in Oakland).

The theme of the ride is financial efficiency and raising awareness of the $1 billion in cost-saving measures taken by the four agencies from July 2019 through June 2025. It is also the first year the new Clipper® card transfer discount is in effect – saving riders money every time they transfer between transit systems.

Ride Along Route Details

• The ride begins at 3:00 p.m. on the AC Transit Tempo line from Uptown Oakland to Chinatown.
• Riders will walk to nearby Lake Merritt BART station, exiting at Powell Street in San Francisco.
• From there, hop on the Muni Metro to the 4th and King stop and transfer to Caltrain.
• Take Caltrain to Millbrae and the end of the ride along event.
