High school sophomores, juniors and graduating seniors worked in summer internship positions in local transportation agencies throughout the Bay Area’s nine counties (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano and Sonoma) through MTC’s annual High School Internship Program this year. “The program’s purpose is to introduce students to career opportunities in transportation,” said Steve Heminger, MTC’s executive director. Students were required to live and attend school in the county where they worked.
